International Studies

At various stages, Georgia has participated in the following international educational studies:

Currently, the country participates in the following international studies:

• TIMSS 2024 - Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study

• PISA 2025 - Programme for International Student Assessment

• PIRLS - Progress in International Reading Literacy Study

Planned participation in two additional studies:

• ICCS - International Civic and Citizenship Education Study

• ICILS - International Computer and Information Literacy Study

The purpose of international educational studies, including competency assessments, is to compare the achievement levels of participating countries against international standards and to identify key contextual factors. 

Starting in 2024, the National Center for Educational Research will oversee international educational research activities in Georgia.
