International Studies
Georgia has been actively engaged in international educational research since 2006, such as:
• Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS)
• Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS)
• Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)
• Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS)
• Teacher Education and Development Study in Mathematics (TEDS-M)
The purpose of international educational studies, including competency assessments, is to compare the achievement levels of participating countries against international standards and to identify key contextual factors.
Starting in 2024, the National Center for Educational Research will oversee international educational research activities in Georgia.
